A Conversation with Dr. Hadi Halazun

Dr. Halazun wrote a passionate letter in the New York Times that went viral to his division after a week of being in charge of a COVID-19 intensive care unit at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York. A cardiologist, Dr. Halazun wrote: "Today, we are all COVID-19 doctors. Your appointments are canceled, and our offices are closed. We’ve been called to the front lines.”

He made an urgent appeal to all the COVID-19 doctors urging them to support the true front-line troops; the nurses, the respiratory therapists and the physician assistants, who are at the highest risk of getting hurt.

Learn more about what it’s like to be on the frontlines, what this crisis looks like from a viewpoint of a COVID-19 doctor, and how we can help the medical and caregiving staff to fight this pandemic.
